Mobile Solutions
ATMS provides and supports barcode and data collection equipment that can be used in conjunction with ATMS software or independently of ATMS software. We have partnerships with carefully selected world-wide hardware manufacturers and work with you to determine the best hardware for your requirements. Integration support and after-sales support is provided in house.
GS1-128
The identification of pallets, reels, cases and products is often a vital part of any supply chain system. The best means of identification is normally to produce a 'birth certificate' label for the item - usually to the GS1-128 standard. The GS1-128 bar coded label contains a serial shipping contains a serial shipping container code (SSCC) which is unique for the pallet, reel etc. across the world for twelve months. The label barcode can also hold product code, batch details, quantity details and order details.
Barcode Printers
ATMS supplies TEC and Intermec range of thermal transfer printers, that can be driven from most computer systems. Thermal transfer printers are normally recommended as they produce high quality labels at high speed and are designed for use in industrial environments. The latest TEC printers also include RF-ID reading and writing capability.
Barcode Scanners
ATMS supply PSC and Hand Held Products scanners. The range includes extra long range scanners, dual range scanners, cordless scanners and imaging scanners. Scanners can be used with radio or batch terminals or can be used with a 'wedge' to link directly to most PCs and computer terminals. Imaging scanners can be used to scan two-dimensional bar codes or to capture images.
HandHeld Mobile Computers
ATMS provides a range of Hand Held Mobile Computers from leading manufacturers, including Catchwell, Navista, Intermec, Psion Teklogix and Belgravium. The mobile units vary widely in terms of ergonomics, screen size and keyboard layout - the selection of the best unit for the job is often needs to be heavily influenced by the operatives who will be using the equipment.
Most handheld devices are used in wireless mode, either via WiFi or GPRS. Devices can also be used in 'batch mode'; data is uploaded and downloaded at intervals using a cradle.
Scanners are available for short range and long range use, imaging scanners are available for image capture and scanning of two dimensional bar codes. Radio tagging options are also available. Options are also available for GPS location recording and infra red temperature measurement.
Vehicle Mount Terminals
Wherever possible, in a warehousing environment, ATMS recommends fork lift truck mounted terminals, such terminals cost slightly more that hand held terminals but overall lifetime cost can often be lower as they cannot be dropped or lost.
Their large screens and keypads are of great benefit to operators who spend most of their time moving material. Again ATMS works with several equipment manufacturers to ensure that the customer can select the best terminal for their application.
Wireless LAN (Local Area Network)
ATMS uses 802.11X standard wireless backbone for most applications, to link radio data terminals, hand held PCs, desktop PCs and printers to a company's existing network and systems. Careful attention is given to wireless coverage and to security.
RF Tagging
ATMS systems are 'tag ready' and can use a wide range of tags currently available in the market. Tags include low cost passive (un-powered) tags and higher cost, long range, active tags.
On line Mobile Digital Video and GPS vehicle tracking system
The system consists of a digital mobile CCTV and digital video recording system with inbuilt GPS location recording. It can be installed in most vehicles and can monitor alarm events, door openings, speeds, location and shocks.
Using the latest mobile communication technology the equipment provides live video and data feeds to anywhere with Internet access, alarm inputs can automatically trigger alerts in the central control room.
Voice Recognition
ATMS can provide voice recognition systems for hands free, paperless picking operations. Voice is ideal where bulk loads need to be picked as the operator is free to use both hands. Voice also has advantages in high speed picking applications.
