Introduction of a new range of Ruggedized Hand Held Computers bridges the gap
The Introduction of a new range of hand held computers into the UK market aims to fill a gap that logistics providers have been struggling with for a long time.
Until now the choice has been high specification, high price or cheap and cheerful – the latter not normally passing the test of time.
ATMS plc – the Birmingham based logistics solutions company – has answered the needs of this demanding market with the Catchwell range of mobile devices.
The Catchwell units are compact in size, have comprehensive features and are well priced. The units are ideal for logistics providers, parcel and pallet delivery companies, manufacturers and distributors.
The range includes the CW20 hand held computer that is drop proof to 1.8 metres and is sealed against water and dirt to IP65 standards - it also has a 12 hour battery life making it ideal for challenging mobile applications. The units can be provided with the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system, allowing for compatibility with thousands of mobile applications and allowing the unit to be used as a mobile phone 'out of the box'.
Equipment features include a colour high brightness touch screen with signature capture, a range of bar code scanners and imagers, GPS for location tracking and satellite navigation. WiFi, 3g mobile communications, a high resolution low light camera, Bluetooth and more...
Catchwell's pedigree stretched back over many years, Korea Post is one of their largest customers – using the mobile devices in arduous conditions across Korea. Catchwell units are designed to operate at temperatures ranging from -20c to +50c.
Steve Cross, Managing Director of ATMS plc commented "we are delighted to formalise this partnership with Catchwell, as solutions providers, with over 20 years market experience we've been well aware of the market need for reliable, proven and well supported mobile technology – but technology at a price that is reasonable and realistic."
