Molton Brown gets ahead with ATMS

Molton Brown, the London based manufacturers and retailers of luxury beauty products, has selected the ATMS' Stock Track Plus (STP) warehouse management system to help control its operation in Elsenham.

The company became part of the KAO group in 2005 and were looking for a system that had the flexibility to cope with both the short- and long-term requirements associated with expectations of major production growth and increased throughput of stock.

Key issues for Molton Brown are full traceability and control to ensure the continuous flow of raw materials and work-in-progress stock in a fast moving production environment. STP incorporates Kanban line-side replenishment to guarantee availability of materials at all times. Batch recording, stock rotation and quality control were also essential ingredients for a company that prides itself on producing top-end beauty products for a demanding consumer market. At the same time, ensuring the smooth running of their manufacturing operation in a highly competitive market means stock levels needed to be both accurate and timely. Despatch of finished goods to their third party distribution operation can also be handled by STP.

The system is due to go live early in 2008. The system is required to interface to Molton Brown's existing ERP system, EFACS, providing the whole company visibility of all stock.

ATMS plc is UK based and owned, and is globally represented with offices in Dubai, China, Singapore and Belgium.
